Cape Arundel Golf Club

Kennebunkport, Maine

This Walter Travis design dates to 1896 and is best known as the race track of President George H.W. Bush (“41”), who is loathe to play 18 holes in more than a couple hours (his record is one hour and 24 minutes). His son, George W., the 43rd president often joins him for these fast-paced rounds. Bill Clinton has also played this links-style course set along the Kennebunk River with 41, whose father, Prescott, once owned the course record (Phil Mickelson is the current holder with a nine-under 60 in October 2006).
