Testing Grounds:Nickent 3DX Ironwood DC HANDICAP: Mid (10-18) |

Its predecessor is a favorite among tour players, and this one will be, too, no
doubt. The Nickent 3DX Ironwood DC has a thin face that gives it plenty of
spring-like effect. With the use of two tungsten-polymer inserts, 40 grams of
weight were moved down and back in the head to help to distribute weight to the
perimeters and give the club a nice balance. It comes in 13 different lofts—just
about the most of any hybrid—so distance gaps aren’t a problem. “Who needs a
5-iron?” says a 16. “Not me. Get me a bagful of these.” The soft Winn grip
was popular with our testers, too. “The grips feels good in the hands,” says a
10. “I normally have trouble hitting hybrids off the fairway, but I didn’t have
any problems with this club.” |
