Unique Driver Wedge Putters
© Bob Grier

The driver, wedge and putter are the most important scoring clubs. Here are three unique choices that will help you get the ball in the hole in fewer strokes. If not, they certainly are good conversation starters

Maruman Majesty Vanquish
Known primarily in Asia, Maruman hopes to make inroads in the U.S. with the Vanquish driver, for better players. It uses a super-hard proprietary titanium called Fullerene that allows for an ultra-thin face and “outrageous ball propulsion at impact.” The stock shaft is Fujikura’s innovative Rombax. ($2,500, 800-650-1460)

Edel Golf
You can customize a club for your swing. Why not one for your putting stroke? You can with a handcrafted, personalized putter from Edel that fits your stroke precisely. With four head weights and three faceplates with different lofts, you also can adjust your flatstick for varying green speeds. ($500, 541-271-0812)

Scratch Golf
As the company’s name indicates, you can design your wedge from scratch, based on your preferences and swing shape—steep or shallow. The available options allow you to choose it all: head shape, finish, sole grind, stamping, loft, shaft, grip, lie, length, swingweight. (starting at $299, 800-834-4834)
