Bridgestone J36 Combo

Bridgestone offers a chance to seamlessly shore up the weaknesses in your bag

By: Tom Cunneff

Bridgestone Irons Golf ClubsGood players don’t necessarily want to give up the workability of a long iron for a hybrid, but even the best amateurs could use a little help. Enter the Bridgestone J36 Combo, an amalgam of the company’s three new forged iron lines: J36 Pocket Cavity (PC), J36 Cavity Back (CB) and J36 Blade. The best part: You can pick and choose the combination that’s best for you.

The PC has a deeper center of gravity and thicker top line and sole; the CB is slightly less forgiving; the Blade has a higher center of gravity for more penetrating ball flight. With stock Rifle Flighted shafts, the clubs blend easily no matter the configuration. “All the clubs look beautiful,” says a 5. “I don’t know why more companies don’t offer sets like this. The feel of the blades is pure heaven.”

MSRP: $899 (steel shafts); 3–PW
