This newcomer is a worthy addition to Nike’s Sumo stable
Like its big brother, Nike’s SQ Sumo2 hybrid is not for everyone. But testers note the club’s blocky shape does not seem as jarring as the driver’s does, perhaps because hybrids are a new category and manufacturers are defining their standards as they go.

As promised, the club’s weighting produces straight, high shots from different lies—just beware of shots that may balloon into the wind. “There’s a long par 3 with a small green at my course that I never play well because I hit the ball too low,” says a 13. “I birdied it the other day with the Sumo—the ball soared and stopped dead six feet from the pin.”
