Srixon Z-RW

This driver may be Srixon’s breakthough turn in the club market

By: Tom Cunneff

The key to Srixon’s Z-RW driver is its “Starburst Power Face,” which the company claims creates uniform trampoline effect all over the clubface, not just in the center. Other technology includes four different bulge-and-roll zones to help minimize dispersion while increasing the gear effect that helps shots hit off the toe or heel bend back toward the middle.

The ball jumped off the face, evidenced by the impressive launch numbers, but shots were still easy to control. “I love the traditional look,” says a 3. “Plus, working the ball was no work at all.”

MSRP: $400 (four lofts, 8.5–11.5 degrees)
