TaylorMade r7 CGB Max

Even chronic slicers will be hooked on the r7 CGB Max

By: Tom Cunneff

The golf equipment industry uses more initials these days than the military does. TaylorMade’s latest addition to the alphabet soup is CGB Max (Center of Gravity Back), which provides relief for slicers sending out SOS signals.

TaylorMade r7 CGB Max Driver Golf ClubWith a 16-gram weight near the heel to promote a draw, the driver also comes with TaylorMade’s moveable weight technology, as well as a face that is closed four degrees and an ultra-light shaft. Put it all together and it practically dares you to miss the ball to the right.

“I’ve discovered parts of my course down the left side that I never knew existed,” says a 17. “There’s a long, sharp dogleg left that I finally parred because I found the fairway.”

MSRP: $600 (three lofts, 9.5–12 degrees)
