Tom Cunneff The golf equipment industry uses more initials these days than the military does. TaylorMade’s latest addition to the alphabet soup is CGB Max (Center of Gravity Back), which provides relief for slicers sending out SOS signals. With a 16-gram weight near the heel to promote a draw, the driver
also comes with TaylorMade’s moveable weight technology, as well as a face that
is closed four degrees and an ultra-light shaft. Put it all together and it
practically dares you to miss the ball to the right.“I’ve discovered parts of my course down the left side that I never knew existed,” says a 17. “There’s a long, sharp dogleg left that I finally parred because I found the fairway.” MSRP: $600 (three lofts, 9.5–12 degrees) |
