Tour Edge brings the concept to drivers with the XCG, which features an ultralight magnesium crown, steel body and titanium face, resulting in the extreme center of gravity—low and away from the face—that gives the club its name, as well as a high moment of inertia (MOI). Unlike other high-MOI drivers, the XCG retains a traditional shape, which appealed to testers. So did the performance—the low spin rate produced good carry numbers. “When I normally hang back and try to hit it high, the ball balloons,” says a 12. “But I got great distance with this club—without sacrificing control.” MSRP: $399 (three lofts, 9–12 degrees)
