NICKNAME Amen Corner
Many Masters tournaments have been won and lost on these water-guarded holes, given the nickname Amen Corner by Herbert Warren Wind in a 1958 article he wrote for Sports Illustrated. Wind's inspiration was an old jazz recording "Shouting at Amen Corner" by a band under the direction of Milton Mezzrow, a Chicago clarinetist.
