The Good Earth

On Earth Day, the LINKS GreenHouse opens at Reynolds Plantation

Few golf publications have a good way to commemorate Earth Day. But we are proud to announce the opening of the LINKS GreenHouse, which was built to meet the standards set by EarthCraft House, a green-building program established by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association.

Designed by Michael Hug and constructed by Linger Longer Homes in partnership with Georgia Power and Energy Star, the GreenHouse features numerous green features: energy efficiency, building materials, indoor air quality, water quality and use, and site planning.

The GreenHouse is the latest example of environmental stewardship that founder Reynolds Mercer and his family have brought Reynolds Plantation, a luxury golf community located east of Atlanta.

The LINKS GreenHouse will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

So the next time you make a visit to this luxury resort community to play golf, play on Lake Oconee or just relax in the rustic surroundings, be sure to take a tour of the GreenHouse and take a peek at the future of sustainable home building.
