Last week, in “The Buzz” (our daily “what people are talking about now” section on this site, which if you aren’t checking everyday you should be!), we reported on the first wave of Masters-inspired products to hit the shelves: green shoes from Foot-Joy, green socks from Kentwool, and a green-headed driver from Cobra.
As postulated back then, those three were only the beginning. On the heels (sorry) of Tiger Woods’s dramatic win at Bay Hill, Nike Golf has introduced the Nike Free Inspired TW ’13 Limited Edition shoe, which has its own touches of major-championship color.
The TW ’13 line began with Tiger, who wanted a golf shoe that fit and felt like what he wears training and running. Nike’s cobblers came up with the lightweight Nike Free Inspired outsole, inspired by the natural motion of the foot so it is both close to the ground and flexible. The shoes also use the Nike Dynamic Fit support system, with nylon straps as part of the lacing to provide a secure, stable fit.
The Limited Edition shoe, at $180, has all of the above, is made from a waterproof, multi-stretch synthetic leather, and adds green on and around the sole, plus touches of yellow and red. It will be available beginning later this week.
