Gerald Ford
(1974–77)One of the best athletes to be President (he played football at the University of Michigan), Ford brought a powerful golf game to the White House. Long off the tee, Ford outdrove playing partners Arnold Palmer and Gary Player on the 1st hole of Pinehurst No. 2 to start a round commemorating the opening of the World Golf Hall of Fame. But Ford was also wild, and was known more for hitting spectators with his drives than for the overall quality of his underappreciated game.
