Ronald Reagan Best Golf Presidents Barack Obama

Ronald Reagan
(1981–89)

“The Gipper” was not a bad golfer. Before entering politics, he had a decent swing and played a lot, first as an actor then as a corporate executive. He was a good athlete, with a strong move through the ball. But Reagan rarely played when he took office, limiting his play mainly to New Year’s Eve outings on a private course in California. Reagan’s most memorable golf moment was a round at Augusta National that was interrupted by a gunman who took hostages in the pro shop and demanded to speak to Reagan.
