Oldfield
is a casually elegant 860-acre private residential community along the shores of
the Okatie River in the heart of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Located 30 minutes from Hilton Head,
Oldfield combines community with the great outdoors, both on its Signature Greg
Norman golf course and at its maritime-focused Outfitters Center. Dolphins, snowy egrets and great bald
eagles add unexpected discoveries to outdoor activities ranging from nature
walks on miles of paths to kayaking, boating, shrimping, crabbing and fresh and
saltwater fishing (species include redfish, bluefish, flounder, beam, cobia and
trout). The moss covered oak trees
and the meandering salt water inlets attract a variety of water fowl and
creatures to this peaceful and extraordinary place.
The signature 18-hole
Greg Norman golf course, 7,134 yards of spectacular views of the untouched
Lowcountry, features natural finger lakes and wooded rough that shape this Par
72 experience. According to course
designer and golf professional, Greg Norman, “It’s not often that we have
specimen oak trees and ambiance like you have here. Every shot suits the eye.” The River Club is Oldfield’s home for
dining, relaxation and conversation with panoramic views of the Okatie River and
its dynamic landscape. The River
Club Restaurant serves superb Lowcountry cuisine and captures the casual
elegancy of the community. Signature dishes are prepared daily by Executive Chef
Tony Fairbanks, a graduate of Le Cordon Blue in London, England.
Oldfield homes reflect traditional Lowcountry architectural style of
sprawling porches, grand windows that capture vista views and cool breezes,
working shutters and metal roofs. A
true sense of neighborhood is achieved in the layout and positioning of
homesites to maximize views of the river, marsh and golf
course.
