9. Celtic Manor

Twenty Ten Course (2010)

No one is going to argue that European Golf Design's Twenty Ten is a better golf course than, say, Muirfield (the 1973 Cup venue), but Celtic Manor is a good deal more accessible for groups seeking a team competition. While the maximal aesthetic of the course isn't really in vogue at the moment, it does feature a beautiful natural setting in the Usk River valley and consistently amped-up risk-reward shot values. The resort's easy-to-reach location also makes it a good base for exploring the fine links courses of the south Wales coast, like Royal Porthcawl, Southerndown, and Pennard.
