El Saler is considered architect Javier Arana's masterpiece and has changed very little since its 1968 debut. The course features a mix of natural settings, with some holes playing through pine forest and others along the wide-open coast, where true links conditions prevail. For this, the fourth Spanish Open hosted by the Valencia-area course, tournament organizers are hoping to show El Saler's linksy spirit to the fullest, with firm-and-fast playing surfaces and plenty of tightly mown turf around greens complexes. A stylish modern hotel on-site welcomes visitors.
