Built by the developers of Tour 18 Houston, a neighboring replica course, this well-groomed, semi-private facility features a front nine inspired by the storied back nine at Augusta National, with the requisite tall pines and rolling terrain. The 7,041-yard layout's back nine borrows from Pinehurst No. 2, Oakland Hills and other classic layouts, though the holes are inspirations, not cookie-cutter copies. Back-to-back island greens at Nos. 17 and 18 can drown a good round in a hurry. Former site of a Champions Tour event, Augusta Pines features speedy, undulating greens and a massive 100,000-square-foot clubhouse loosely patterned after the one at the end of Magnolia Lane.
