This exclusive golf and real estate community off the Carolina coast selected local architect Tim Cate to rejuvenate a 1960s George Cobb design that had grown “tired.” Over a two-year period, Cate widened fairways to improve playability in windy conditions, converted thirty-five acres of maintained turf to environmentally friendly sandy scrubland, and transformed the course's green complexes—adding bunkers and expanding putting surfaces dramatically. Cobb's routing remains intact, but the course now has a much more modern, visual appeal.
