Bay Hill Club & Lodge

Orlando, Fla.

With its sickle-shaped doglegs pivoted around water hazards and giant, well-defended greens, Bay Hill was a beefy, man-sized layout from the get-go. Palmer, an inveterate tinkerer, has been polishing the layout since acquiring the club in 1976, repositioning bunkers, resurfacing greens, and doing everything in his power to sharpen the razor’s edge of Bay Hill’s risk-reward scenarios. While Palmer has retained the original 1961 routing, he can take full credit for the rugged, demanding layout that the pros certify as one of the best tests of golf on the PGA Tour.
