The course of golf history was set when Colonel Robert P. Jones moved his family into a summer home near East Lake. That was where his son, Bobby, learned to play golf under the tutelage of Stewart Maiden. Even as Bobby Jones won the Grand Slam and became one of the best players in the game's history, East Lake remained his home course.
