Purdue University West Lafayette, Ind.
Pete Dye returned to Indiana, where he won the State Amateur in 1958, to design
a visually arresting, challenging layout that has hosted numerous events in its
15-year history, including the 2004 Indiana Open and last year’s NCAA
Championships. Numerous school departments, including forestry, entomology and
agronomy, were involved in the project, in which students helped in the
construction. The other course at Purdue is Ackerman Hills, site of the 1961
NCAA Championships. |
