In lieu of bunkers, Jim Engh used innovative obstacles that he calls “hogbacks,” shale ridges that mimic the surrounding mountains that are the backdrop for nearly every hole on the 7,053-yard Four Mile Ranch. The creative Engh loves to push limits, and the visually dramatic layout in central Colorado.
