Swing Away

Enjoy two American classics in the same day with this unique doubleheader of golf and baseball

Of all the rites of spring, two of the greatest are baseball’s opening day and the Masters. That’s no coincidence, since co-founders Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts timed the Masters to entice spectators and journalists making their way north from spring training.

You can start a tradition of your own by combining golf and baseball into a memorable day of playing a nearby course before heading to the ballpark to watch a game. To make the task easier for you, we have chosen courses within an hour’s drive of the parks.

The 30 courses that correspond to the 30 major league stadiums include everything from U.S. Open sites to modern tests from today’s big-name architects like Tom Fazio and Pete Dye to two Ohio layouts from first-time architect-owners.

Start your tour by following one of the links below. No matter where you play golf or watch a game, there's no doubt the mood will be festive, the grass will be green and the hot dogs will be delicious.

To quote Mr. Cub, Ernie Banks: “Let’s play two!”
