Normally, it doesn’t cost more to build a golf course than it does to field a major league baseball team. But the Pacific Ocean-hugging Trump National LA’s $250 million price tag was more than twice the Dodgers’ $118 million payroll in 2008. A good chunk of that cost went to rebuilding the 18th hole of the original layout, formerly known as Ocean Trails. That hole had fallen into the ocean, necessitating a deep-pocket rescue effort.
