Sure, Torrey Pines South is a U.S. Open course, the brute with a Course Rating of 78.1. And for decades, golfers will be trying to match Tiger Woods’ playoff-forcing putt on the 18th hole. An Open course alone is worth the trip, but visitors should allow enough time to play the North, which similarly sits hundreds of feet above the Pacific Ocean and just may have the best single hole on either course: the cliff-hugging, dogleg-right 400-yard 7th.
