In 1965 Gary Player came to America’s heartland to win the U.S. Open at Bellerive, outside St. Louis. The win made him just the third player to win the career Grand Slam, and Player returned to the area nearly 30 years later to design three nines at Tapawingo, located southwest of the city. The 27 holes play over different terrain, from forests to open areas punctuated by water hazards, making for varying holes that hold visitors’ interest. |
