During the last two weeks of March, colleges take center stage in the sports universe, as the NCAA's basketball tournament whittles down 65 teams on its way to the Final Four.

So it's a good time to share some of that attention by highlighting the best college golf courses in the country. These courses, designed by some of the biggest names in architecture, provide challenges for the varsity teams and offer a great pastime for members of the school community, including students, staff and alumni.

Giants like C.B. Macdonald, Alister MacKenzie, Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Pete Dye have gone back to school to form the following list of the 25 best college courses.
