20. Bethpage State Park (Red)

Farmingdale, N.Y.

In the early 1930s, Tillinghast designed three courses—Black, Red and Blue—at this Long Island park as part of a New Deal project. There are now five courses, and Red, is the facility’s second-best course, after Black. While Red is not as strong, it does have better opening and finishing holes than its big brother.
