Known for its bruising par 4s that are Tillinghast’s specialty, this walking-only layout that hosted the 2002 and '09 U.S. Opens inflicts hardships even before golfers step to the first tee; it is infamous for the players spending the night in their cars in the hopes of nabbing an early tee time.
