9. The Honda Classic

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

The Honda Classic may have been the tournament where young Rory McIlroy signaled to Tiger Woods that a changing of the guard was in order. Despite the fact that Woods went out early on Sunday and posted a stellar 62 to take the clubhouse lead, McIlroy played one gutsy shot after another on PGA National’s windswept Champion Course to claim his first title of the year with a score of 270, 12 under par. The classic Florida layout, completely refurbished by Jack Nicklaus, is known for The Bear Trap, its watery gauntlet of holes at 15, 16, and 17.
