After spinning his approach shot off the 18th green and into a water hazard at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines the previous week, effectively snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, Kyle Stanley rebounded with a resounding win at the TPC Scottsdale. Final round leader Spencer Levin thrashed around in the cactus (and never recovered), but Kyle stayed cool, posting a bogey-free 65 in the final round. With its pair of “drivable” par fours and risk-reward par fives that welcome bold play, this well-groomed resort course woven through the desert rewards big hitters like Stanley.
