Woodstock Inn & Resort

Woodstock, Vt.

This stylish resort’s compact par-70 layout, stitched across the floor of the Kedron Valley, has the smallest footprint of any 18-hole course in Vermont. But with water in play at 12 holes, even seasoned campaigners are fully tested on a historic layout revised in 1969 by Robert Trent Jones. The Georgian-style hotel, built by Laurance Rockefeller, is quintessentially Vermont, from the fluffy down duvets and soft woolen throws in the guest rooms to the regional artwork and sturdy furniture in the stone-floored public areas. Interior colors match the outdoors: soft butter tones, shades of green borrowed from the hills. The Inn is a perfect fit for the “prettiest small town in America.”
