Art Deco District

Back in the 1920s and ‘30s, the iconic strip of Art Deco buildings along Ocean Drive, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was the heartbeat of Miami Beach. The past is prologue to the future: today, many of the city’s most interesting hotels, each beautifully restored, are located within the one-square-mile Art Deco District. These include The Tides, Cardozo, and Cavalier hotels, among many others. The Miami Design Preservation League conducts a daily 90-minute walking tour of this unique pastel-hued time warp.
