Little Havana

Founded 50 years ago in an older section of Miami by Cuban refugees fleeing the Castro regime, Little Havana is one of the most vibrant ethnic neighborhoods in the nation. The main commercial street is Calle Ocho, where everything from colorful piñatas to bullfight posters can be found. Dozens of excellent, inexpensive restaurants specializing in classic Cuban fare are situated along SW 8th Street. Versailles, opened in 1971 and popular with locals and tourists alike, bills itself as “The World’s Most Famous Cuban Restaurant.”
