This fabled Lowcountry getaway creates a classic, traditional setting for the holidays. On Dec. 15, guests can “Swing in the Season” with the Sea Island Supper Club featuring Jeremy Davis and the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra. Holiday events slated for Dec. 20–25 include horse-drawn carriage rides, a Cookie Cutters class for children, gingerbread house decorating, Christmas carol sing-a-longs, a young symphony ensemble, elk tuck-ins for kids, a “reindeer dash” family fun run, and a Dickens Christmas Dinner (with strolling carolers) in the Cloister Clubroom on Dec. 24.  A special delivery of blown snow on the Cloister lawn, brunch at the Lodge, a formal Christmas dinner in the Georgian Room, and a screening of It’s A Wonderful Life in the Beach Club Theater are among the planned festivities for Dec. 25. From Jan. 1–Feb. 28, 2013, golfers can take advantage of Sea Island’s two-night Stay and Play Unlimited Golf program, featuring dawn-to-dusk play on the resort’s three courses.
