The best keep getting better. The Gleneagles Hotel, set on its own estate in Perthshire, Scotland and one of the world’s premier resorts, has restyled and expanded its art deco Strathearn Restaurant and debuted a new Sommelier Table in the wine cellar, which houses over 350 single malt whiskies from every region in Scotland. While foodies tend to flock to Andrew Fairlie, the hotel’s Michelin-starred dining room, golfers gravitate to the new Blue Bar, an al fresco area where whiskies and cigars can be enjoyed. Site of the 2014 Ryder Cup, to be contested on the PGA Centenary Course created by Jack Nicklaus, Gleneagles is also home to the exquisite King’s and Queen’s courses, each etched into the foothills of the Highlands.
Now that the snow has melted, the grass is greener at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler in British Colombia, one of Canada’s top golf resorts. The resort’s newly launched Unlimited Golf Package features luxury accommodations in a Fairmont room and unlimited golf on the club’s Robert Trent Jones, Jr.-designed course with each night’s stay. The longer you stay the more you can play: stay one night and receive one day of unlimited golf; stay two nights and receive two days of unlimited golf. Package rates start at $229 CAD per person, double occupancy, from June through September.
