Forest Dunes, a nationally-acclaimed course by Tom Weiskopf located in north central Michigan beside Huron National Forest, will open the Lake AuSable Lodge this spring. Featuring 14 rooms and suites, the 8,500-square-foot lodge, its Adirondack-style architectural theme echoing that of the clubhouse, overlooks a lake and the first tee of the golf course. Stay-and-play golf packages, starting at $149 per night, can be customized to include golf, meals, and accommodations in either the new lodge or existing golf cottage. There’s also a spa and fitness center at the club. In addition to the golf course, carved from a thick forest of pines and native sandy areas, visitors can experience world-class fly-fishing and canoeing on the nearby AuSable River. Biking and hiking on wilderness trails is also available.
Golf Trip Genius, an online golf trip manager used by nearly 10,000 golf trip captains worldwide since its launch in 2010, was designed to save golfers the time and trouble of dealing with spreadsheets of handicaps and scores, organizing pairings and tournaments, calculating results and payouts, and monitoring golf, hotel, and dinner plans. The company recently introduced Golf League Genius, a comprehensive way to manage social and competitive golf leagues. The company’s user-friendly, cloud-based software is designed to be intuitive for league organizers and golf pros who want to save time and create a more efficient system for pairings, tournaments, and standings.
