The Hills Are Alive

The best resort courses in the Hill Country of central Texas

For the next three weeks, the PGA Tour swings through Texas. The first stop is Westin La Cantera in San Antonio, in the heart of the Lone Star State's Hill Country.

With its varied vegetation and rolling topography, the Hill Country makes an ideal canvas for golf. Top architects like Tom Fazio, Ben Crenshaw and Arthur Hills have taken advantage of this landscape to build fun, challenging courses at the top resorts in the region, which has both San Antonio and Austin as epicenters.

This collection of resort courses makes the Hill Country a great golf destination. And this year, the golf choices are even better with Pete Dye and Greg Norman adding to these riches with a pair of courses at TPC San Antonio.
