Like: Adam Scott’s 62 for a three-stroke lead after round one of the Arnold Palmer Invitational—a rare glimmer of greatness this year from one of the game’s elite. Among the top eight players in the world rankings at the end of last year—Woods, Scott, Stenson, Rose, Mickelson, McIlroy, Kuchar, and Stricker—not one has notched a victory in 2014.
Don’t Like: The Masters story lines (or lack thereof). With 20 days to go before the bell rings, a bulging disk may sideline Tiger, leaving the bulging-waistline Stadlers as the feel-good story. The stars need to get themselves aligned. Otherwise, well, we’ll all still tune in, of course, but with less anticipation than for any Masters in recent memory.
